Footage emerged of Idah apparently the worse for wear but he found the net in 5-0 Hampden hammering of St Johnstone

You don’t have to tell Callum McGregor that boys will be boys.
Adam Idah isn’t the first and certainly won’t be the last young man to get himself in a scrape after a night on the tiles.
The big Irishman found himself at the centre of a social media storm this week after a video of the 24-year-old apparently worse for wear in the back of a taxi spread across the internet.
It’s the type of unfortunate situation the skipper experienced himself once upon a time in the early days of his own Celtic career.
But with maturity comes wisdom and there’s no doubt the captain has moved from those mistakes, establishing himself as the sage old head in the Parkhead dressing room.

So when McGregor recommends giving his team-mate a let off after his midweek misadventure, it’s a cautionary note worth listening too.
And as long as he’s acting like an adult on the park as he did with his crucial goal in Sunday’s fabulous five-goal skelping of St Johnstone at Hampden, his captain is happy to put it down as experience.
He said: “Obviously he's been fine, he's been OK. Everybody knows what's happened. Listen, young boys will be young boys and that's fine. No problem with that.
“He was off the next day, then boys are happy and free to do whatever they want and that's fine.

“As long as he's producing in training and games, then it's not really an issue for anyone, to be honest.
“So I'm really happy for him. He gets his goal, he contributes to the team and obviously that will help him as well.
“Obviously, we know what it's like. We live a life in the public eye and everybody's desperate to get something off you. And that's just the way of the world these days.
“So we have to try and be smart about it. But the thing that we'll judge him is based on performances in training and games. And he's done that and it's nice just to put a lid on it.
“That's it, done now. Everybody just move on and life moves on as normal.”
